Impact of Crop Rotation and Soil Tillage on the Severity of Winter Wheat Leaf Blotches

Abstract Reduced tillage is considered as one of the main tools to save biological diversity; however, it increases pressure diseases, including wheat leaf blotches. The aim present study was clarify impact reduced soil on development winter blotches in different schemes crop rotation. growing technologies severity disease evaluated a two-factorial experiment: A – system, and B combinations pre-pre-crop pre-crop (wheat, oilseed rape, barley faba beans). Diseases were assessed every 10 days approximately total diseases by calculating AUDPC (Area under Progress Curve). Tan spot, caused Pyrenophora tritici-repentis dominated over long period, regardless meteorological conditions. Development Septoria blotch not influenced neither rotation nor tillage. level tan spot essentially higher after wheat, pre-pre-crop. promoted spot. Ploughing mitigated effect previous crops differences insignificant. Despite many positive effects conservation tillage, increasing fungicide treatment could be necessary, conditions, when most devastating widespread disease.
